Preview and Get Well Butterfly

When a friend isn't feeling well, I love to send a card to let them know I'm hoping they will be back to their game as soon as possible. I also like to have at least one on hand at any given time. Having sent one this week prompted me to get another into my supply.

This Daffodil Delight card looks pretty cheery to me and I'm hoping it will make someone smile when they aren't feeling so well.

Bring on the Cake

Here is another card we made at a workshop recently. I'm not sure what the fold is called, but it's very easy to make. Card base is 5-1/2" x 7-1/4" scored at 4-1/4".

The flap on the right is a piece of 3 x 3-1/2" card stock that is scored at 1/2" on the 3-1/2" inch side. Tape the 1/2" part of the flap to the back of the card (use matching card stock for best results). Tape the white card stock (2-7/8" x 2-7/8" with sentiment stamped on it) to the flap. Place an element (here it is a Mosaic Punch) to hold the lower left of your flap. I placed a Stampin' Dimensional on the lower left corner of the Mosaic stamp to hold the flap closed for mailing. You could use any shape for your flap holder.

Hope you enjoyed looking today. Please leave your comments below. I love to read them ALL!

June Pals Blog Hop! Welcome!

Thank you for joining us for the June Pals Blog Hop and our kickoff to the new catalog! Are you ready to see wonderful creations featuring new products from the 2013-14 Stampin' Up! catalog? Get ready to update your wishlist!

You should have just left stop number 14 on the Pals Hop - Katy McGloin at Just Fun Stampin'. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

I am in love with so many of the products that are new in the catalog that I had a hard time deciding which ones to use! I think I like the embellishments the most, but I'm really stuck on the Stretch Ruffle Trim and I don't want to be un-stuck! I have spools of it and I'm sure there won't be any left when it retires some day! It's just heavenly!

I chose three colors for this card: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana and Soft Sky, which is a returning color that I have missed! The sentiment is from Label Love. I stamped it in Soft Sky onto Soft Sky card stock and then punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch. I stamped the image a second time in Coastal Cabana onto Whisper White card stock and then hand-cut the scalloped part with my Paper Snips. Stampin' Up's sharp Paper Snips make it easy to cut out any image. The scallop is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I placed the label over two halves of a White Tea Lace Doily. I wanted two layers of the doily so it wouldn't be as white as the Whisper White border underneath the Stretch Ruffle Trim.

Underneath it all is a beautiful shelf made of Soft Sky cardstock cut with the Large Scallop Edgelit, topped with a Whisper White Delicate Designs embossed piece, which is topped with a lovely and rich piece of Coastal Cabana Stretch Ruffle Trim. When cutting the Large Scallop edge of the Soft Sky piece, I used the *new* and fantastic Magnetic Platform in the Big Shot. It holds the metal Edgelit perfectly in place for perfect cut each time! I love it! It was the first new product on my wish list!

Thank you for looking at my card today. I am always hoping to inspire, so please check back often! If you haven't already, won't you please subscribe to my blog on the left side bar? You won't miss any of my cards, projects or offers! I would LOVE to have your feedback today and always! Have fun on the rest of the Pals Blog Hop!

I just had to make a couple more in Calypso Coral/Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush/Pink Pirouette! Enjoy!

Your next stop is Nicole Picadura at Scraps and Stamps, stop number 16 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting-- I hope to see you next month!

                                                    Happy Father's Day Mix

Happy Monday. I was late getting my Father's Day card ideas, but they are now in the mail! I used a combination of New and Retired Stampin' Up products to complete my card.

I think the centerpiece of the card is this bow tie, created from the new Smoky Slate Chevron ribbon. It's luscious! I folded the ends of a 5" strip to the center and used glue dots to hold the ends down. Then I wrapped a piece of Basic Gray stitched ribbon around the middle (after taking one stitch with needle and thread to gather it). Done!

"Happy", "Father's" and "Day" were each inked separately to read vertically rather than horizontally. The stamp is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped in Basic Gray. The frame for the sentiment is the New Label Love stamp set and stamped in Smoky Slate ink onto Smoky Slate card stock.  The background for my sentiment and bow tie is from the Retired Beyond Plaid stamp set. This set wasn't around long enough! I bought it specifically with Father's Day in mind, but then it retired :-(  I will be keeping it long enough to get some good use out of it! I stamped it in Smoky Slate onto Whisper White for the perfect frame.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my card today and that you are inspired! Won't you leave me a comment? I love to read them all.

Don't forget that TOMORROW is the Pals Blog Hop! You will see many ideas for how to use your Stampin' Up! Products! I'm so excited--see you then!

                                                    Happy Day--I Got to Play!

                                                    I. am. smitten! This 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim is so soft and silky and easy to work with. See all of those "waves" of trim above? Each color is only a portion of the entire spool!! The colors I have are Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush. I WILL be ordering the other two colors: Baked Brown Sugar and Pistachio Pudding! I LOVE this trim.

For my first project with the Ruffle Stretch Trim, I decided to be conservative and just place one row of the Coastal Cabana color onto my card. BUT, I can just see me placing rows and rows in lots of colors on lots of cards in the future! I won't be able to help myself!

Above the trim is a "bow" that I snipped and made out of the new Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. This tiny print is perfect for my 1/2" wide bow. To dress up the bow further, I added a tiny piece of 1/8" Basic Black taffeta ribbon and a teeny button from the new Brights Designer buttons.

Under the trim, I stamped an image from the new Happy Day stamp set in White Craft ink, which I then embossed with White embossing powder. I added three pearls, mostly to cover up my messy embossing! I didn't want to start over and I added the image after the rest of the card was finished. I wanted to get this card up as soon as possible.

I still have a lot of organizing to do before I can play with the rest of my new items from the Annual Catalog, but I will be trying my hardest to get that done ASAP! Enjoy, and don't forget to leave me your comments below. If there is any special item you are enjoying best from the new catalog, won't you tell me what it is?

                                                    Happy Day Card Supplies:

                                                    PPA160 Primrose Gumball Whisper

It's Pals Paper Arts Challenge time! The only problem I had this week was the arrival of my brand new items from the new catalog and having to complete this card JUST before they got here! I had no new DSP that would work and no new stamps sets that would work :-(  I had to think long and hard about how to make the challenge. But isn't that what challenges are for??? It should be a challenge -- to stretch our limits, creativity and resources!

I decided to add a neutral, Basic Black, to the mix for some depth. I think it also makes it elegant!

The actual beginning of my card was to create the background paper from two of the challenge colors, Primrose Petals and Gumball Green. I didn't like the way the green stamped on the primrose, so I switched it around. Then my card base color had to be Primrose Petals.

I hope you enjoy my card as well as the other Design Team members' cards and that you can create and share your own project or card using our colors! I would love to read your comments! I hope to post more projects this weekend, some showing some of the brand new goodies I received yesterday! Have a great day!

By the Seashore Triple Time Stamping

Hello again! I am adding another post so you can see something new from me. I had a workshop last night and this is one of the cards we had so much fun making. The technique is called Triple Time Stamping. You lay your cut card stock in layers, stamp all over and then add the matts and magically all of your images line up! The idea for this design came from Lorrie K in the splitcoast gallery.

One image was stamped on a separate piece of card stock, colored with Sponge Daubers and ink and then snipped out and adhered to the smallest part of the card. I hope you like this and you will leave your kind comments below! Come visit tomorrow for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge of the week and see how you can play along!

                                                    Seashore Triple Time Card Supplies:
Card Stock: Soft Suede, (card base) Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory (largest base) Crumb Cake (matts)
Stamps: By the Seashore, Pennant Parade

                                                    Tools: Paper Snips, Sponge Daubers
